This notice explains how data is processed when you use the Perception Gap panel survey page.
1) Who is responsible?

2) What this survey page does
This page lets invited panel members answer a short, fixed set of statements (no free text) about a specific communication situation. Each invite link is single-use and expires automatically.
3) What data we process
A) Survey answers
- Panel answers to predefined statements (e.g., Agree / Neutral / Disagree / Can't tell).
- Invite token (single-use identifier) to validate access and prevent duplicates.
- Round/session ID to assign answers to the correct check.
B) Context shown to you
You may see context fields provided by the app user so you can rate the situation. These fields are defined by the app (some may be optional). They are not free text fields on this page.
C) Technical metadata (security & operations)
When you access the page and submit answers, technical data may be processed for security, abuse prevention, and reliable delivery:
- IP address (typically in server/hosting logs).
- User agent (browser/device information).
- Timestamps (e.g., submission time).
- Basic diagnostics in case of errors (e.g., request/response status codes).
4) Purposes and legal basis

Provide and operate the survey (validate invite token, show the right questions, store answers).
Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: operating the service, ensuring security, and generating results requested by the app user. We have assessed that our interests outweigh any potential impact on your rights). -
Prevent abuse and secure the service (e.g., single-use links, logging, troubleshooting).

5) Sharing and service providers
We use the following service providers to run this page and store survey responses:
- Netlify (website hosting and delivery; see netlify.com/privacy).
- Supabase (database and API for storing invites and survey responses; see supabase.com/legal/dpa).
These providers may process technical data (including IP address) in logs for security and operations. We do not sell your data.
6) International transfers
Depending on the provider configuration, data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, such as the USA or EU regions. Where required, appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)) apply. See provider documentation.
7) Data retention
- Survey responses and related identifiers: automatically deleted after 90 days.
- Invite tokens: expire after 7 days and are single-use.
- Server/hosting logs (e.g., IP address): retention is determined by the providers and may differ. We use these logs only for security and operational purposes and do not control exact retention periods.
8) Cookies and tracking
This page does not use advertising cookies. Basic operational cookies may be used by the hosting platform to deliver the site securely and reliably.
9) Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights such as access, deletion, correction, objection, and data portability. To exercise your rights, contact us at: app.perceptiongap@gmail.com.
